Software

To reduce rework costs and the risk that our client’s control system software does not work properly, our procedures require a deterministic method for software development and testing. These procedures are based on GAMP standards required in FDA-regulated industries.

Functional Specifications and Detailed Hardware and Software Design Specifications developed during Control System Engineering define exactly how each new Control System must work and will be formally tested. These Specifications are used as a basis for Software development.

Control Panels

During the “Preliminary Engineering” phase, our clients have eliminated undesirable options and are refining one or two solutions identified during the “Conceptual” phase.

Fourstep can assist by providing Control Systems Engineering and Design with sufficient definition for a +/-25% cost estimate. These estimates can be used to justify further investment in a project.

• Class 1, Division 2 rated for flammable or explosive environments

Instrumentation

During “Detailed Design”, precise specifications and drawings are finalized based on the Control System Engineering documentation and drawings developed during the “Preliminary” phase. To maximize client profitability, only one solution should be refined during this phase.

Fourstep can assist by providing precise Control Systems Engineering and Design with sufficient definition to provide a basis for +/-10% cost estimates. Deliverables from this phase are used for final Control System fabrication, testing, installation, commissioning and system support after project completion. Estimates from this phase can be used to provide a final justification for implementing a project or to validate construction and installation contractor bids.
